The birth of the award
‘Sixty years have passed since I came up with the idea of Environmental Art at the Museum of Catalonia in Barcelona, which then began in Celle in 1970.
Poetry, inspired by nature, has subtly guided this birth, also supported by the maxim of my dear friend Carlo Belli – published in his famous book KI, (defined by Kandinsky: the bible of art) – who wrote: The rights of art begin where those of nature end, a concept adopted as an uncompromising rule for all those who have created or will create works in contact with the nature of Celle. Poetry became visual in 2018 with the environmental work La Serra dei Poeti by Sandro Veronesi, with the intervention of landscape architect Andrea Mati.
This work generated the idea of announcing the biennial poetry prize CELLE ARTE NATURA.’

First Celle Art and Nature Poetry Award
For the first edition (2019-20), the prize was unanimously awarded to Antonella Anedda, who stayed for a short time in Celle, with alternating meetings with the artist Christiane Löhr, resulting in a very valuable volume printed in 0/99 copies.

Second Celle Art and Nature Poetry Award
The prize for the second edition (2021-2022) was unanimously awarded to Giuseppe Conte. His writings are in absolute harmony with the principles that animate the spirit of the Collection’s initiatives.
