1985 – canapa, wood
At the top of the first flight of stairs in the fattoria, this work resembles a human back, seen through a window that opens onto the landing. The room holding the installation is locked, and one can only view the interior through a tiny window. Looking through this one sees a small, almost monastic cell with two high white wooden stools on which sit two burlap forms shaped like curved human backs, both of which lack heads, arms and legs.
