1993 – felt and industrial felt
The artist completed his first work in felt for the Gori Collection in 1983, for what was at the time considered a temporary exhibit. Ten years later, for permanent placement at the Fattoria, he attempted the piece again with the same materials, this time using two colors to create two distinct forms, one set in contrast to the other, as if co-inhabitants of the room on the first floor of Casapeppe. The environment, devoid of natural light, suggests an underground space where, on the wall visible from the entrance, stands a white felt form: the material is worked with folding and linear cuts which create the form, fastened to the wall, stretching to its full volume toward the viewer.
Only when entering into the room can one see the second felt piece, dark grey, arranged on the wall at shoulder height, supported by a single point of attachment, around which strips are curled and finally descend into coils on the floor, thus creating rolls laying , on the ground, one on the other.
