1985 – oil, tempera, wood, steel
In the right-hand tower of the fattoria, the artist decided to make his installation in the spaces formed by three adjoining rooms. He was inspired by the large semi-circular windows found on three sides of the tower. By doubling their size, Vedova created his first disks which soon became the basis for his most recent artistic language. Celle’s installation consists of a series of disks constructed from thick wood forms and painted on all sides. Vedova then installed these pieces in such a way as to involve the entire architecture of the space. A number of effects are generated from this installation, as they jut out from walls or seem to rotate in space. Mirror images of the disks have been masterfully presented by the cutting of the interior walls.
