1993 – cast iron, fiberglas, wood, charcoal
The artist worked in the left tower of the fattoria for this installation. The work, is composed of three elements: a mill wheel, a lighting bolt, and three-dimensional hand and foot imprints set into the wall. All are symbols for the moral and physical struggles that mankind has endured throughout history. The architecture of the tower, with its thick walls and powerful beams, also contributes to generating an atmosphere rich with ancient memories of hard work and segregation.
