COLLEZIONE GORI

Horizontal Forest

On the second floor of Casapeppe, Fabrizio Plessi’s Horizontal Forest has been in dialogue with Sol LeWitt’s 2004 Wall Drawing (n #1122) All one, two, three and four-part Combinations of Not Straight Lines in Four Directions, since 2016. The cycle of eight drawings develops a project in which tree trunks are modified to be able to host monitors thereby transforming these elements of nature into hosts of video art. Extending vertically in height, the large black squares by LeWitt, with their exact geometry, juxtapose the horizontal structures of the iron display cases holding Plessi’s colored drawings; here each artist shows his interest in investigating the various potentialities of his own theme.
