The Virgilian Wood

1985 – bronze

In an olive grove bordered by grapevines, four bronze pieces are scattered among the trees. A basket of lemons rests on the ground while two plaques (one in Italian and one in English) hang from the boughs of the olive trees. Several steps away, a plow, like the ones used by the ancient Romans, is placed on the ground and its form recalls the forked shape of the olive branches surrounding it.
