2009 – corten

In 2009 Tirelli was invited to Casapeppe to show his paintings in a temporary exhibition that he titled Intorno al silenzio (Around Silence); the very strong plastic quality of some of his images inspired him to translate these shapes into sculpture.

The artist chose a clearing in one of the more striking areas of the south-western zone of the park, a site surrounded by Lebanese cedars and plane trees. The pieces are arranged as if on a stage and two of them are characterized by soft, curving geometric lines that respond to the more jagged profiles of the other two which recall forms typically found in Mesopotamian architecture.
