1990 – corten
The site chosen by the artist for her work is a small hollow set among the bamboo and the holm oak trees. In order to reach her sculpture, one must leave the main road. At the center of the tiny clearing, the installation in corten steel resembles a spaceship or a large brazier raised on four legs. The sculpture’s form is inspired by the plants and trees. One must duck to pass underneath the beams and reach the inner space, which provides a pleasant sense of security. The sky is framed by several overhanging branches which seem to peer down into the work.
This piece is a beautiful combination of sculpture and architecture that fully embraces the nature surrounding it.
